A common error in windows is the ‘Operation Cancelled By User’ error.
This usually occurs during the install process. This is a surprisingly easy error to resolve as it is caused by user input.
This error is caused by the user selecting ‘No‘ on the Windows ‘User Account Control‘ (UAC) prompt. The Windows UAC prompts are a security aid. They ensure that a piece of software needs user permission before being able to make major changes to the operating system.
When a UAC prompt appears it means you have two options. You can either let the process continue and press ‘Yes‘ or you can select ‘No‘ and will then be told the ‘Operation cancelled by user‘.
If you were not expecting this error message but do want the application installed you will need to restart the installer application.
