You can file both RTI and CIS Submissions through the Qtac payroll.

In order to set these schemes up you will first need to speak with HMRC and register your business. As a UK employer it is now mandatory to declare your payroll information online.

To file online you will need to have four bits of information that HMRC should provide you with: ‘Username’, ‘Password’, ‘Tax District’, and ‘PAYE Reference Number’.  You will also need the company ‘Accounts Office Reference Number’ for RTI Submissions and a ‘Contractor UTR’ / ‘Company UTR‘ for CIS Submissions.

Click on the ‘File by Internet’ option located along the top of the main screen of the Payroll Software and then click the ‘Agent Setup’ option. Enter your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ click the ‘Save’ button and then ‘Close’.

If you now go to the ‘Company’ button and then ‘Company Maintenance’ – select the ‘Tax & NI’ tab – you can enter your ‘Tax District’, ‘PAYE Reference Number’, ‘Accounts Office Reference Number’ for RTI Submissions and a ‘Contractor UTR’ for CIS Submissions.

If you have subcontractors set up on the payroll you can enter their CIS information in ‘Employee‘ > ‘Subcontractor Details‘.

These are all the details you need to be able to submit to the HMRC online. Your HMRC username and password will be the same ones that you use to log into their online services. If you are submitting CIS from the software you will need to make sure that your user ID is able to submit this type of information to the revenue. If you are unsure, speak with the CIS help-desk.
